Pastor (Lead Elder)
Andrew Allinson is our Pastor. He is humbled to be a Follower of Jesus; blessed to be a husband of one amazing wife; slightly stunned to be a father of five dearly loved children; privileged to be a Pastor of God's church family; and 'enlightened' to know the delight of a good cup of coffee. Andrew remembers being told in Sunday School that the answer was always Jesus. Now he realises that the Gospel, as it displays Jesus, is always the answer; not simplistically but profoundly!
Peter Rearden is an Elder and a maintenance planner at a local mine. Pete came to Singleton for work at an underground mine in 1983, and after marrying Pat they settled here and raised their family. They have two children Luke and Sheree who are both studying at Uni. Pat runs a wholesale nursery business from home after becoming a Horticulturalist. Pete and Pat have hosted a home group for ‘ever’ and been connected into the lives of many in our church and community.
Paul Farrelly is a Elder and is married to Sally. They moved to Singleton in 1994 and joined a “couples without kids” home group at Singleton Baptist Church. They now have six children aged 3-20 and Paul juggles family, full time work and equipping and serving God’s people. Paul is passionate about God’s Word and loves learning more about God’s plan for men, families and the church. While Paul is a control system engineer at the local power stations, it has become his delight to learn that God is in control of all things. Paul has been described as a “Psalmist” because of his love for the Psalms, but he is still learning to apply them to his life, and rest in God. Psalm 127:2 “It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.”
